Yeah - I'm not trying to be awkward, Jack and I'm not saying that I will upgrade the board before the 1st of September (as I don't know how things will pan out yet), but if the opportunity arises for me to do so I'm not going to turn it down.
Perhaps you could ask someone else to save them for you?

Jack, could you save your stories to your harddrive for me, please? I'm not 100% when I'm going to do the upgrade (I'm still waiting on a few things) but if those things resolve and I get the opportunity, I'd like to plough ahead.
Not easily, no - that's the problem. I'm posting from other people's computers, as and when I can.

(I wouldn't be offended by anyone's archiving my stories, but I accept your reasoning.)
ETA: I seem not to be authorized to add stories yet. Is this intentional?

This is a most unsatisfactory situation. Nobody was prepared for the board outage; some people may even have been forced to do some work.
