I took a look at the problem myself, haha, and it appears to be a bug. This comes up in the Firefox Error Console when you attempt to click "Use full editor":
Error: $("post_edit_reason") is null

Just noticed awards have been implemented, hope we can see some more added soon!
Are there more changes going to be made Sal?
Thanks for reimplementing lo-fi for mobile users too
-
I'll take a look at it tomorrow. It should all be enabled for use (just not forced), but I'm a bit at a loss of how to test it without the technology myself if it's not already working.
If you want me to test it out on my iPod just give me a shout .
Same here

No worries, thanks for bringing it to my attention (and to Andrew for his correct input too ).
Invision ships as default with a mobile skin forced onto the iPhone, Touch, Blackberry etc and turning it off had totally slipped my mind!
Could the option to use the iPhone skin at least be available? Or maybe it could be default for iPhone Safari users but just have that "Manually choose a theme" link available? It's just handy when you're on the move and therefore have no access to a Wi-fi network so having to resort to your phone data network, which is pricey alone! (iPod touch users have wi-fi only hence why using the desktop version is no problem).
-
Lara, there's an option at the bottom of the iPhone/Touch version to "Manually choose your theme". By default (on Media Spy) that takes you to the full desktop version of the site. It should then give you those few extra options that the lo-fi version doesn't offer
Looks very nice

You could always save them to a webmail account or something, because at least you wouldn't be saving to the computer itself and you can easily access them anywhere then.
-
They're not huge but yeah the thread titles are larger than they used to be, with the thread subheadings appearing to have shrunk in size too. The forum descriptions seem to be be larger than the thread subheadings though. Never bothered me though. Could come in handy though if you have a large screen.
Here's the link to the site in question: http://www.mediaspy.org/forum/index.php?act=idx

Cool another bit of random praise but nice go on hijacking the RSS Bot

Slightly off topic but still relating to the IPB upgrade, I and a few other people on here go onto this forum Media Spy, who recently seem to have gone through hell upgrading to the new software (including fixing up the bugs that they came across, creating a new theme as their old one wasn't compatible, updating the theme for consistency on the non-forum parts of their site) and one thing I noticed was that without any warning that I know of to the users, they still managed to keep a huge majority of their posts (dating back to about four years ago). I wouldn't mind knowing how they did it as I know Sal that you warned users to back up their threads as chances are it could be lost in the upgrade.

Nice job Sal. Love the tagline!
Will there be a link added to the nav bar at the top in the forum and summary archive?
-
Ah k cool, no worries, was just wondering
-
Do you have any idea yet Sal when the upgrade will start to take place?
-
I swear the same problem occurred not that long ago either (actually it might have happened on another forum Media Spy), so yeah I definitely knew it wasn't the upgrade.
Thanks Sal. Can you name who the culprit was who broke the forum?
-
Yeah I had a look at the demo version of it (thanks to David, LOL) and I like the new changes. Obviously a lot of the changes are more behind the scenes, but there's some nice new stuff there. The new profile viewer is cool, reminds me a lot like Facebook with the "status update" feature. And only having your friends pop up in the list when you're mutual friends is good too. Can't remember anything else now though
-
Haha didn't realise you made it. Nice job. And thanks for the caps. Nice look it has, a lot cleaner and shinier.
-
Yeah sure, that'd be great.
-
Any idea what the major changes are David?
-
Sorry Sal, I'm not as technical as what I should be but is this thread in relation to the new IPB 3 that was released a few weeks ago? Are you changing the forum to IPB 3, which will also change the look of this forum?
I'm not Sal but I'll take a stab and say yes that is what is happening. Sal has mentioned in the past that she's holding off any (major) forum changes until the new version of IPB is released, which apparently kept being held off. And now it is released so the upgrade is now being planned.
-
You could do it similar to the way the episode archive is set up. Have the fic posted originally on the forum, then a staff member can work on uploading it to wherever the fics would be stored on their own. The web page with the fic could have a link down the bottom that says "Discuss on forum" where it will link you to the comment page.
-
I like the idea of implementing all of the new features all at once. Then it gives you time to have a look at everything new at once, instead of having to wait for all of the changes to roll out.
-
Looking forwards to this. So I'm guessing this is the large upgrade you were holding off that's supposed to add a whole heap of new features?
Thanks Sal.

I would say the RLN did it's job, but I think without it, it means the N Chat section gets a lot of "non-Neighbours related" threads going in there, like the stuff about Ben Lawson's new show. What exactly did you want the section to do Sal? (you mentioned you wanted to improve it a while ago)
-
Hah I figured
-
Wait so would people who have access to the Wiki section (which is a contributor forum) have their PMs enabled then? Dw I'm not fussed either way if my PMs are enabled or not cos I use it very rarely, was just curious as to why mine worked while others didn't when I'm not a staff member or contributor
(and hey I wouldn't mind doing summaries, it just takes time, which I don't have much of nowadays )

Yeah, me neither. Had no idea there even was a symbol to indicate that you posted in a thread
