[spoiler]Are spoilers still working?[/spoiler]
ETA: Confused.com
Ahhh, I should've mentioned this - bbcode has been deprecated.
Essentially, that's any code which uses the square brackets - e.g. [b] [I] etc. That's always been the staple of forum software since the Millennium, but the WYSIWYG Richtext editor is much more powerful these days, so the decision was made to quietly deprecate it.
The only irritation with the Spoiler tag is that there's no shortcut to it (whereas bold, italic etc all use the standard keyboard shortcuts).
And yes, @Benji the functionality has been in for a few versions now - so a couple of years. There was a screen resolution where the button didn't show in the editor (due to space constraints) but I fixed that a few months ago.

It just looks a bit strange on my Android phone having the avatars and name at the top middle of each post, with a lot of space around it. I guess I'll get used it.
Yeah, it's definitely a bit of a change. I think it looks better on some mobile resolutions than others. I'll keep an eye on what's out there for changes moving forward.

It doesn't appear to be compatible with Internet Explorer, but then I appear to be the only person still using that.
Unfortunately support for IE is being dropped from most (non-Microsoft) major suppliers.
I understand the decision was made by the creators of Invision because a great number of web standards are not supported by IE, which makes it very difficult to code for - you end up with an ancient looking site because developments and features from the past 15+ years are just not supported.
I realise that it's very difficult if IE is forced upon you by corporate ICT infrastructure (if it's a work device), although even Microsoft is dropping IE support over the next 12 months, as they've moved to Edge - so hopefully there will be changes in the workplace moving forwards.
If it's a home PC, then there's a few browsers which support modern standards - for instance:
Firefox: https://www.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/new/
Chrome: https://www.google.com/intl/en_uk/chrome/
Edge: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/edge
Opera: https://www.opera.com/There are others, and your mileage will vary - but if you have opportunity to install a modern web browser, I would strongly recommend you do so.

Thanks for the screenshot - here's how they should display:
As @wizardt™ has explained, this is not a failing of the board software, but it is due to your PC running an outdated version of Windows.
I appreciate it's difficult if it's a work PC, but if it's a home PC, you should be able to upgrade to Windows 10 for free with your Windows 7 licence key - but obviously, I'll leave that decision with you.

The topic changed so suddenly then, I fear I have whiplash.
Is the emoji issue resolved?

You can't really see those ones they are tiny and poor quality
(I jest, I jest.)
In all seriousness, I've taken a look at the site on a few different devices, using different skins and different levels of zoom - and they all look perfect.
Please could you provide a screenshot so we can see what the issue is? (Or anyone else, if they're having the same problem.)

Yeah, and you can search it - so, for example, if you use the shortcut and then type: grin - you'll get all the varieties that are the best match.

I would like to see some better quality emoji's if you don't mind me saying
You should be able to enter emojis from your device - either from the keyboard installed, or by pressing the Windows Key + fullstop key on desktop.

Hi,
There's been quite a major upgrade to the board today.
As well as some cosmetic changes, you will notice some new features - for example, some popular threads now have a summary of topic activity in thread view, with stats / popular posts / popular days / popular images in a bar on the right.
I've deliberately not turned on everything in one go, so you may see new features appearing over time - but if you have any queries or concerns, let me know.

Well done, so is it just 91 from 1994 and one episode of 1998 to go aside from this year?
Yeah, that's right - we've been having a little bit of a push at 1994 as well, although it's harder work (for lots of reasons). I think we've done 11 so far, but there's plenty to go.
I think that 1998 episode might cause us a bit of grief, as I think from my notes that I missed it when it was aired on UKGold.
-
In fairness, I stopped watching in 99. 95 is by far the worst year of the 90s (and very disappointing too, as the show is so good in the early and late 90s) - but given that there's been two decades of episodes since then, I'm certain there's been far far worse in the intervening years.
We just like moaning about 95.

That's how I feel about 1995 too. If you watch a single episode, there will be individual moments which are enjoyable and you'll find yourself wondering 'how bad could it have been really?' - but if you have to watch it day-in, day-out, it all quickly becomes tedious and those individual bright moments are not enough to sustain you through the season.
Whereas other episodes are much more consistent - they're more enjoyable through lots of storylines, and not just reliant on one story or one set of characters to make the episode worth watching.

It was much more enjoyable, I have to admit!

Just a quick mention that we're handling the UK falling behind Aus by offering a new episode discussion forum.
The existing discussion thread for the episode from the Australian broadcast will be moved from 2020 Episode Summaries into the new UK forum. This will keep all discussion to one thread.
It will then be moved back a few days later.
This means that we don't have to adjust the thread title or contents, which we use for archive purposes.
We'll see how far we fall behind before making a decision about splitting Neighbours Chat into Australian pace and UK pace. Australian pace posters, please try to be considerate of those who are watching at UK pace - your use of spoiler tags during this time is much appreciated.
Any questions or comments, let me know.

It does pop up occasionally, although there seems to be no rhyme or reason to it - it's not forgotten, I've just been busy with work this week.
I'll try and look at it soon.

We have amended the text editor slightly to assist our Contributors with their summarising and archiving efforts.
The change affects the posting box across the forum. Previously, you had to press enter/return twice to get to a new line. Now, you only press once.
Existing posts have been converted, so for a period of time, you'll see lots of posts with lots of whitespace. Apologies for this.
If you need to write on the line below, you can hold down shift and press return/enter.

I'm glad you found us!

Yes, it's technically the same forum - we carried the member database over. Bizarre to think that it started in November 2000 (and a few of us were around and talking earlier than that, back in 98/99) and many of us are still here now.

Happy anniversary Neighboursfans.com!
I've missed the forum today. Thanks for getting it up and running again Sal. Much appreciated. Each time I've tried today it's told me it won't work. Maybe I should have refreshed the page instead of keep trying sporadically.
Don't worry, the errors were all on my side - nothing you could've done!

Nice little archive image for us all - way back in 2005:

Notifications are often a perilous area with upgrades, especially as settings are swapped around and deprecated; I chose what I felt were the safest options, but it's never as simple as one size fits all. I'm sorry this has affected your account.
The good news is that it's trivial to make the change within your account. Go to: https://www.neighboursfans.com/forum/notifications/options/
In that screen, you can turn off various notification types individually - or, at the bottom right, there's a link to 'Stop all email notifications'.
